Different uses of Drones

PGSO uses drone survey to inspect the parts of a building that are difficult, slow or expensive to reach: roofs, facades, gutters, roof-mounted plant and high-level structure. High-resolution imagery is captured from the air, so a roof can be inspected without scaffolding, a cherry picker, a rope access team or a roof access permit.

For most commercial buildings that turns a job needing planning, equipment and disruption into a single visit. It also produces a permanent visual record, so the condition of a roof or facade on a given date can be evidenced later rather than recalled.

Drone survey is normally commissioned alongside a condition survey, or as part of pre-acquisition due diligence. It can include thermal imaging to identify heat loss, damp and failing insulation that ordinary photography will not show.

Typical uses include roof and gutter condition inspection, facade and cladding surveys, checking roof-mounted plant and access routes before mobilising a team, recording condition at lease start or lease end, and building a visual record across a portfolio to a consistent standard.

All flights are carried out under the relevant Civil Aviation Authority permissions, with appropriate insurance in place.
